This guide shows you how to handle the errors in the email, you will receive after POS upload.
When uploading the Dogman POS report to effectmanager, we make validations to the format and the data in the file.
This is to ensure that your data imported to effectmanager is not corrupted.
If there are corrupted data in your file, you will receive an email that details the error.
Below is how to handle them:
- Country Code Validation in the file name
- Period Validation in the file name
- EAN Validation in the file
- Zero Sales Validation in the file
Country Code Validation in the File name
The Country Code in the file name determines the chain to which the sales data is mapped.
The possible values for the Country Code are SE, FI, and NO, and they can be in both upper and lower cases.
Example Filename: Dogman_NO_Jan_2019
In the file name, the Country Code is represented by the two-letter code immediately following the main identifier. For instance, in the example above, "NO" signifies Norway.
Remember to use these codes accurately to ensure proper mapping of sales data.
Country Code error
If the file names do not match the accepted values for the country code, the file will not pass the validation process. To resolve this, please make sure that the file name contains an accepted value for the Country Code before proceeding with the file import.
Your cooperation in maintaining accurate file names is appreciated. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further assistance.
Period Validation in the File Name
In the Dogman file, the period is not explicitly defined within the data. Instead, the period is determined by the file name structure.
For example, consider the file name: Dogman_NO_Jan_2019
Here, the period is indicated by "Jan_2019," following the format Filename_CountryCode_MM_YYYY.
Important Information:
-
For months, the accepted values are Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, and Dec, and they can be in both upper and lower cases.
-
Regarding the year, ensure that the value is numerical and comprises four digits.
By adhering to these guidelines in your file names, you ensure accurate period definitions for your data. If you have any questions, feel free to ask
Month validation error
If the file name does not align with the accepted value for the period, the file will not successfully pass the validation process.
To address this issue, kindly make sure that the file name includes an accepted period definition before proceeding with the file import.
Your attention to this detail ensures a smooth validation process.
Year validation error
If the file name does not conform to the accepted format for the year, the file will not successfully pass the validation process.
To address this, please ensure that the file name includes an accepted period definition and then proceed with importing the file.
Your attention to detail ensures a successful validation process.
EAN Validation in the file
The Sales file for Dogman must include ProductID for the products to be successfully imported into EffectManager. This is a mandatory requirement.
To facilitate this, a rule has been established: if ProductID is not provided, you must input the EAN as a substitute.
Important Reminder:
- EAN is mandatory for import.
- Ensure that the EAN is a numerical value.
By adhering to these guidelines, you ensure a seamless import process. If you have any questions or need further assistance, don't hesitate to ask.
Error for missing EAN
EAN is mandatory, and the cell cannot be left blank. Please add the EAN or any other numerical value to the cell, and then proceed to import your file again.
Ensuring that the EAN is provided will help facilitate a successful import process.
Error for improper format in EAN
EAN must be a numerical value, correct the cell with the improper format, and import your file again.
Zero Sales validation in the file
To ensure that zero sales are not imported into the database, a rule has been implemented to reject lines without any Turnover and Volume. Here's how the rule works:
-
Volume 0 + Turnover 0 = Both Columns have 0 → DO NOT IMPORT
-
Volume BLANK + Turnover BLANK = Both columns have BLANK → DO NOT IMPORT
-
Volume is different from 0 + Turnover 0 → Import the data.
-
Volume 0 + Turnover is different from 0 → Import the data.
Volmuen 0 and Turnover 0
The data is not imported for the rows that have a combination of Volume 0 and Turnover 0. You are notified in the email about this.
Error for Volume BLANK and Turnover BLANK
Delete the row from the file and import the file again.
