FAQ
How to add a new Category (Product Group)
This guide shows you how to add a Category (Product Groups) in effectmanager.
When maintaining your Product Master Data in effectmanager, we offer you to create two levels of categories (or Product Groups) to organize your Product Master Data in.
If you create products yourself, please see these two guides:
To add a Category you must add a Top Level Product Group in effectmanager.
To add a Sub Category you must add a Group in effectmanager.
If you use GS1 integration for Product creation, we do offer to add a Top Category to your categories created in GS1, so you can have two layers of Categories.
Please read more here about maintaining categories with GS1.
If you are interested in using the GS1 integration for product creation, please contact our support at support@effectmanager.com
👍Pro-Tip: You can deactivate Product Groups if all connected products and units are deactivated. Just edit the Product Group, and remove the checkmark in Active.
Inactive Product Groups, Products, and Units, can be filtered out in effectmanager using the filter Show only active products
